January 9, 2020

This is the first Nugget of the New Year 2020. I want to share with you Biblical Truths and Principals that will establish a firm foundation for us to build upon as we enter this new time.

The individual principals you stand on and for do matter. The foundational principals you stand on become your system of beliefs. What you believe determines how you see and interpret your world.  Job 8:11-15

As God’s children we are always to declare and proclaim the truth of God’s Gospel. Stand fast in and declare the truth.  Jeremiah 46:14-15

God’s sure foundation of His Word is the foundation upon which we must stand or we surely will fall. Psalm 111:7-8

Believers in 2020 must practice three principals from God’s Word. We must “Watch,” “Stand Fast,” and “Walk in the Spirit of Love in all we do.” The standing fast occurs while we are watching for God’s purpose to be fulfilled in and around us. 1 Corinthians 16:13-14 “Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong. 14 Let all that you do be done with love.”

These three principals, if practiced in the church today, would transform our communities, our nation, and our world. These are some of the very life principals walked out by Jesus Christ himself. We have no better example as to how we can live life to the fullest. Standing fast in faith simply means we are to stand fast in the Promises God has given us for abundant life today and eternal life for the future.

Galatians 5:1-6 gives us insight very few Christians consider as a daily outlook for life. “Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.” Many in the church today believe that when they accept Christ as their Redeemer, they are forever set free from the bondage of sin. That is not true. Christians can and do renter sins bondage through individual sins committed, not confessed and ceased to be walked in. Christ has forever set the Believer free from the wages sin accrues, that is, the death penalty attached to sin. When we continually repeat the same sin over and over, does it not have a hold on our life? In time that or those sins begin to reestablish a yoke of demonic, spiritual bondage and begins to destroy the Christian’s life and witness. It destroys the sweet fellowship God desires with His children. When, through practiced sin, we become disobedient to the life principals God has established for His children, then He must discipline us to bring us back into right standing with Him. God loves us enough to not leave us in sins yoke of bondage and destruction.

That is Good News to begin 2020 with. In standing fast in God’s ability to set us free, we can avoid being entangled again in the yoke of sins bondage. What love God has for His children than to not leave us in Satan’s clutches.
